Branton

Fabrication, and installation of stainless steel MBBR aeration grids, sieves, pipework, and sample tanks at Branton WwTW for Veolia

Bartec was appointed by Veolia to deliver the complete mechanical fabrication and installation of MBBR aeration systems at Branton Wastewater Treatment Works, under Kier for Severn Trent.

Our scope included the in-house fabrication of:

  • Four coarse bubble aeration grids for 6.0m diameter tanks using 304 stainless steel with laser-perforated laterals

  • 24 fully welded media retaining sieves and their supporting structures, including flanged tees and air scour pipework

  • All blower distribution pipework, risers, and droppers from the external manifolds to the tank internals

  • Drain sieves, Filtrax sample tanks, and stilling tubes, pre-assembled and tested prior to delivery

On site, Bartec managed the full installation of the aeration system components, two blowers, and all free-issue instrumentation and valves. All internal tank works were completed under confined space (restricted access) procedures, using workshop-preassembled grid sections lifted into place and anchored using stainless chemical fixings.

This project showcases Bartec’s capability to deliver high-quality stainless steel process systems, combining precise fabrication, phased delivery, and controlled installation to support Veolia’s MBBR process commissioning.
