Fabrication and installation of MBBR internal tank components including aeration grids, sieves, and supports at Clowne WwTW for Veolia

Bartec was appointed by Veolia to carry out the fabrication and mechanical installation of internal components for the MBBR system at Clowne Wastewater Treatment Works, supporting Severn Trent’s wider upgrade programme.

The scope included:

  • Fabrication and in-tank installation of two coarse bubble aeration systems, each comprising three 304L stainless steel grids with flanged laterals and perforated distribution pipework

  • Supply and installation of six media retention sieves, each connected to 300mm headers and supported on custom-fabricated stainless steel frames

  • Manufacture of two stainless steel drain sieve top hats, installed at the tank base

  • Supply and delivery of two Filtrax sample tanks with pre-installed mounting brackets for site instrumentation

  • All supports, fixings, and brackets installed using stainless steel fasteners and chemical anchors

  • Full on-site assembly carried out under confined space procedures, with crane-assisted lifting and laser alignment for accurate positioning

All components were fabricated in-house and delivered to site preassembled where practical, ensuring a smooth and efficient installation phase.

This project reflects Bartec’s capability to deliver precisely fabricated, process-critical internal MBBR systems, ready for integration into advanced biological treatment processes.
