Horsham

Full mechanical supply and installation of twin MBBR systems including aeration grids, sieves, support structures, and pipework at Horsham WwTW for Veolia

Bartec delivered the complete fabrication and installation of the MBBR process system at Horsham Wastewater Treatment Works, working with Veolia under Severn Trent’s programme of infrastructure upgrades.

Our scope included:

  • Fabrication and supply of two medium bubble aeration systems, each comprising five stainless steel grids for 15.0m diameter tanks

  • 48 fully welded media retaining sieves, each 2000mm long with integral air sparge pipes

  • 24 stainless steel connection tees and two complete sieve support structures, fabricated from 80mm box section

  • 304 stainless steel blower pipework including manifolds, droppers, and loops from external blower skids into the tanks

  • Drain covers and Filtrax sample tanks, preassembled for quick deployment

On-site installation included all fabricated components, four Aerzen GM90 blowers, valves, and free-issue instrumentation. Works were carried out under confined space procedures, with all internal tank elements lifted in using a coordinated crane plan and preassembled wherever practical.

The installation required close coordination to ensure compatibility between aeration grids and sieve landing positions, with Bartec taking site measurements and carrying out final adjustments to eliminate clashes.

This project highlights Bartec’s ability to deliver fully integrated MBBR mechanical packages, combining precision fabrication with high-quality installation and a strong focus on safety and sequencing.
