South Hailsham - Vortex Breakers
Fabrication and installation of stainless steel vortex inducers at South Hailsham WwTW for CMDP
Working on behalf of CMDP, Bartec delivered the fabrication and mechanical installation of vortex inducers at South Hailsham Wastewater Treatment Works, as part of Actiflo outlet channel enhancements.
The scope involved the in-house manufacture of eight stainless steel vortex breaker assemblies, including laser-cut base plates and vertical vanes fabricated from 304L stainless steel. Components were precision-cut, engraved for positional accuracy, and TIG welded in accordance with Bartec’s qualified welding procedures to ISO 15613:2004.
Installation was completed on site by Bartec’s mechanical team, who worked under controlled conditions to safely install the assemblies into the existing concrete outlet channel structure.
This project demonstrates Bartec’s capability to deliver high-specification fabricated components with precise mechanical installation—supporting the optimisation of flow dynamics within advanced treatment systems.
