VES Sheffield

Mechanical installation of new break tank, booster set, and associated pipework for Veolia.

Bartec was engaged by Veolia Water Technologies to carry out the mechanical installation of a new break tank and booster pump set at the VES Sheffield facility, forming part of an upgrade to the site’s demineralised water system.

The project included the removal of existing pumps and resin vessels, modifications to existing support structures, and the installation of new uPVC pipework, valves, and fittings. Bartec supplied and installed a complete new pipework network to support the booster set, break tank, and scrubber cylinder, working in line with Veolia’s P&ID and layout sketches.

Further scope included:

  • Removal of legacy Grundfos pump system

  • Installation of stainless steel support frame and new booster skid

  • Fabrication and fitting of new 2” and 3” uPVC process lines

  • Pressure testing of installed pipework to 1.5x working pressure

  • Installation of level sensors, gauges, and rotameters (free-issued)

All works were completed with a two-man team over a planned programme, with full RAMS and quality assurance documentation prepared in advance. This project showcases Bartec’s ability to deliver complex mechanical upgrades on operational sites in collaboration with design-led clients like Veolia.
