Yeovil

Fabrication and delivery of twin MBBR aeration systems and media sieve assemblies for Yeovil WwTW under Veolia

Bartec was engaged by Veolia to fabricate and deliver the complete stainless steel MBBR process system for Yeovil Wastewater Treatment Works (Penn Mill), as part of Wessex Water’s upgrade programme.

Our scope included the in-house fabrication of:

  • Two coarse bubble aeration systems (3 grids per 12.0m diameter tank), using laser-perforated laterals and flanged 150mm headers, all constructed in 304L stainless steel

  • Sixteen media retaining sieves, arranged in sets of two with 450mm flanged manifolds and support structures

  • Eight sieve manifolds and two media drain sieve top hats, incorporating 50mm air sparge lines routed to a common manifold

  • Two welded sieve support structures, fabricated from 80mm stainless steel box section

All components were delivered to site on articulated vehicles, preassembled where possible and ready for installation. The fabrication followed Bartec’s established standards for MBBR systems, ensuring compatibility with Veolia’s model and process specifications.

This project is another example of Bartec’s capability to deliver high-quality, preassembled MBBR process systems—providing precision fabrication, careful logistics, and full compliance with industry standards.
